When families have a meal together, it is considered social activity. Do you think eating together is important to people in your country?

It is often believed that having meals together is good, for a family is the smallest social group. I feel families spending this time together, for the period spent together, gives them a chance to interact and bond. The following paragraphs will throw some more light on my point of view.

Family time is considered vital, for the family is not just the smallest, but the closest social group. The reason is that people are not in a rush when they have food. The time people spend having meals together allows them to interact peacefully, and discuss their achievements and challenges in life. It is when people celebrate happy occasions by eating something special. Also, if one of the family members needs guidance or is going through a rough patch in life, they can seek help from members, for this time is considered an intimate time.

Individuals are generally busy during the day, and when they meet their kin for dinner, they feel soothed.
In my country, India, family relationships and bonds are given priority over anything else in life. The time people spend makes them happy and heals them. Joint family culture is still prevalent in India, especially in small towns and villages. Generally, these big families have their breakfast and dinner together.

Not just eating food, the cooking process also allows bonding with one another. Women of the family cook together, and children help the ladies of their family. Women share tips and teach the children about cooking.
Finally, mealtime is vital for bonding with family members, for they are generally free of stress and anxiety then.
