Today, interaction and warmth between neighbours are not as much as they used to be some years ago. It is vital to study the social, psychological, and lifestyle causes of this trend and come up with ways to come up with solutions.
First, people are busier today and do not have ample time or energy to invest in relationship-building with people around them if they do not think they can not gain much from this effort. In other words, people do not have much time for small talk with neighbors in this fast-paced life. Secondly, people, especially young people, are more inclined to stay indoors to browse the internet, play games, and consume content online. In addition, there has been more inclination on taking care of self or indulging in travel. However, earlier, people did not have many sources of entertainment, and they would spend their spare time interacting and gossiping with neighbours. As a result, due to more interactions, there was more warmth among people, which has diminished over time.
Some realize that interacting with others can be beneficial, and with a desire to move out by leaving behind gadgets and work for some time, people can improve relationships with others. In addition, the local authorities can have some platforms and community programs, that can encourage meeting and interaction with people around us. Youngsters should be encouraged to go out to play with other children, so that a bond with others may be created, for if such relationships are struck early in life, they can stay forever, and there can be more meetings and communication with neighbours.
Finally, our neighbours from the nearest unit of a social circle we can have. Though there has been a reduction in closeness and communication with neighbours, there are ways this situation can improve.
