Music has been a vital part of human life. It is believed that the most significant role of listening to music is to relieve us of tension. I do not concur with the statement, for music plays many vital roles besides reducing our stress levels.
Indeed, music, melody, and rhythm is a superior form of art that is enjoyed by one and all. Also, it helps manage our stress by soothing us. Yet, it plays many more noteworthy roles in our life.
First, a celebration is incomplete without melodious songs, as music can make the atmosphere celebratory and helps change one’s mood according to an occasion. Traditional family occasions are celebrated with folk songs or traditional music, and young people’s parties can not be imagined without modern dance numbers, for such celebrations start and end with foot-tapping and vibrant tunes. Moreover, the family worships rituals that are also accompanied by chorals.
In addition to being an inseparable part of get-togethers, rituals, and parties, music has a vital role in day-to-day life. People like to listen to music while travelling or commuting, for its engaging nature helps people pass their time during long journies wonderfully. Further, researchers suggest that light instrumental music helps students studies concentrate better and enhance the growth of plants. For instance, some students believe they can study for longer durations when they have these melodies playing in their ears, and it helps them solve complicated mathematical problems.
To sum up, yes, music helps us destress; however, music, rhythm, and melody have far more blessings, and they are integral parts of all aspects of our life and all these blessings are vital to all living organisms in this world.
