The lifestyles of people across the world are becoming more and more similar. ls, is this positive or negative?

The advent in the use of the internet, social media, and the availability of swift modes of transport have made interaction among people faster. This change has been so profound that people across the globe have similar ways of living life today. I believe this development has both positives and negatives alike. I shall discuss a few advantages followed by disadvantages in the upcoming paragraphs.

Similarities in the lifestyles of people in various parts of the world have merits for many. First, today, people have a sense of relatability and belongingness with others in far-off places. Technological and other developments and fashion updates in one part of the world can be seen and adopted far more easily than before. People can learn from one another. As a result, People in underdeveloped and developing nations no longer feel that they can not live the life lived by the residents in the developed nations. These factors boost people’s confidence in the second world, and the whole world seems to be a big family.

However, this change has a few drawbacks. As mentioned, due to the widespread use of social media, people have started copying what is happening in other parts of the world; consequently, the local culture and traditions are not as followed as earlier. The basic identities of people, customs, and traditional heritage are compromised due to too much mingling of people. Another disadvantage is that some people start blindly following others and doing what is not in their best interest.

To sum up, resemblances in the ways people live their lives in different parts of our world have brought oneness among people; however, the local culture dilutes due to superabundant interactions.
