It is often believed that people with impaired childhoods have more chances of becoming criminals. So, many feel this issue can be managed to a large extent if parents could be taught parenting skills. I could not agree more.

Bringing up a child can be a highly complicated and exhausting process; however, a parent’s role and a person’s childhood have profound impacts on the future, personality, and psyche. Moreover, a child’s brought up has many critical, perplexing, and decisive junctures. Parents’ intentional or unintentional steps may severely harm their children, and the extent of impairment can be so bad that a child may develop some criminal tendencies.

For example, if a parent fails to provide moral guidance, does not spend ample time with their children, or turns a blind eye to their misbehavior, it can result in a youngster growing into a person that may either find it hard to make the right decisions for themselves or may cause disorder in society. On the other hand, if parents are overly aggressive or have narcissistic tendencies, the child may deviate from the path of righteousness and find them self in the deep pit of crime. Frequently, crime researchers find the roots of unlawful activities in the dysfunctional childhood of people involved in unlawful actions.

However, the correct bringing up is hard to decipher, for it is an emotional relationship between two individuals, which comes with many challenges. For many, it is hard to come up with the correct formulae every time. Their actions may be impacted by their baggage in life, lack of understanding of the impact of their actions, or errors in judgments due to an overly emotional bond with offspring.

Finally, it is essential to have expert guidance in such a scenario. One of the ways is to mandate training for would-be parents so that they may carry out their parental responsibilities well.
