Some young people like to copy the behavior and clothes of famous people. Why might this be the case? What problems might it cause?

It has been seen that youth like to follow celebrities and copy their dressing sense and conduct. There are a few reasons behind this mindset, and there may be some concerns. The following paragraphs shall analyze the causes behind this tendency and the challenges it might pose.

Celebrities, especially movie stars and sports people, have been known to set the trend in society for a long time. These people are looked up to by others, particularly young people, for everyone wishes to be like them and hold them as ideals. Young people observe them, like to read about them, and are intrigued by their glamorous and dazzling lifestyles. Thus, these people are also known as youth icons. Sometimes this liking may become so much that people start blindly copying their icons.

Nonetheless, it has been believed that youth trying to live like or wear clothes like their idols is dangerous for them and society. First, one loses originality when one copies someone else, even if the other person may be highly successful or ideal the other person may be. It also means that the person tends to desire a particular lifestyle without knowing the complete picture of a celebrity’s life. These people are generally oblivious to the fact that famous people have issues in their personal and professional lives, and they, too, have certain personality flaws like normal human beings. Moreover, it shows that the one involved in copying is not inclined to learn from the struggles and hard work of someone and instead is more susceptible to being swayed by the superficial aspects of their lives.

To sum up, indeed, many young people copy the ways of living and outer appearance of celebrities, for it is natural to be influenced by the glamorous lives of these celebrities when one is impressionable. It is deemed a negative attitude, and some reasons have been mentioned above.
