Some people think that to be successful, you need to get in a university education, whereas others say it is not true. Discuss both ideas and give your own opinion.

While some believe that tertiary-level education is a prerequisite for a successful career, others disagree. This essay aims at discussing both these views and suggesting an opinion.

University education is considered vital by many. A university graduate and postgraduate can hope for a solid start to their career, and an in-demand degree can considerably smoothen up one’s career path. Getting a new job and getting promotions in a career can be much more effortless for a person holding a reputed degree. Educated people always have more options and are welcomed in other countries too. Not just this, a highly educated person earns more respect and acceptance than others. Thus, educated people generally do better than the rest.

On the other hand, others feel that a college education is not at all necessary to succeed in today’s world. There are numerous entrepreneurs, social media creators, and diverse industry heavyweights who never went to any college. Some well-known people, such as Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, were college dropouts, yet they created massive empires and changed the course of history on this planet.

Furthermore, people’s approach toward their occupation has transformed in recent times. Nowadays, many wish to follow their passions or convert their hobbies into careers. University study is not only irrelevant but also a waste of time for such people, as they can accomplish what they want without going to college.

To sum up, a university education benefits some; however, it is not for everyone, and people must decide if they wish to attend a university if it fits into their plans.
