Grafitti refers to painting, writing material, and drawings on walls or other public surfaces without permission. Though some believe these are good and must be allowed, others believe these should be prohibited. I shall discuss both sides of the argument and offer my opinion.

On the one hand, some feel that graffiti should be allowed. There have been many phenomenal examples of beautiful graffitis. Normally, artists use their writing and craft to express something of importance or just entertain people. Since the intent is good and helps people connect, it is often believed it is a nice concept. Additionally, graffiti allows some artists to showcase their art in the public domain. There have been many great graffiti artists. The world could be deprived of its precious creations if graffiti were banned. In addition, many walls and public surfaces in a city can be used for a superior form of artistic exchange among people.

On the other hand, others feel that such expression of art is a nuisance. First, according to them, these actions dirty walls and reduce the aesthetic value of a city or a town. Secondly, a graffiti artist does not need any permission. Thus, some of these may put up objectionable content, such as something that may hurt people’s religious sentiments or spread hate. In fact, at times, the consequences of these actions may be severe.

Finally, I believe graffiti is a stunning expression of one’s imagination and thoughts. However, there must be control over what is painted or written on public properties, so there are no negative implications.
