Some people believe that using taxpayer funds to look for life on other planets is important. Others, however, think that it is a waste of public money because there are many more important issues requiring funding on our planet. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Space exploration projects are ultra-expensive, and a lot of funds received as a result of tax collection are spent in this direction. Some acknowledge that space explorations are vital and it is justified to pay for these operations, but others believe the budget should be directed to issues being faced on our planet, earth. I shall discuss both sides of the argument and offer my opinion. However, I am more inclined to favour the proposition of expending funds on tackling challenges on our planet instead of spending it on exploring what could be present in the rest of the universe.

Humans are curious, and it is natural to want to know about the universe beyond our planet. It is also believed that an awareness of the outer world can help us in multiple aspects. This knowledge can also help earthlings prepare better in the face of a threat. Leading scientists have been looking at the prospect of inhabiting another planet, for they believe this can ensure the longevity of the human race if there is a danger to our planet. Thus, these people believe it is worth spending money on space programs.

However, others feel that the earth has numerous issues to deal with. and that governments should spend their budgets on improving the situation on this planet. Rise in pollution, health issues, illiteracy, and unemployment are some burning problems on our planet. So, these individuals assert that instead of looking for something that may or may not exist, our focus should be on the problems, that impact us and will impact our future generations.

Finally, funds should be directed at solving the issues faced by
people on this planet. There has been no proof of life on any other planet. Thus, the focus should be on our planet.
