Some people believe that the radio is the best way to get news, while others believe that TV is better for this purpose. Discuss both views, and give your opinion.

While some think news is better experienced on the radio, others feel TV is better for getting information. I believe both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Radio has been considered no less than a friend by many. When Freddy Mercury sang “Radio someone still loves you”, the world agreed and sang along. Listening to the news on the radio has many advantages: first, a person can multitask for example, one can listen to the radio while driving or cooking. Secondly, a radio is more economical than a television. Because of these reasons, radio is still popular everywhere, especially in rural areas.

On the other hand, television adds visuals to news reports. The experience of watching is enhanced multifold when a person is served with pictures and videos about that news. Secondly, there is a better possibility of connecting with a story or understanding the situation when we watch videos or pictures of that situation. It can be helpful, particularly when the news is regarding people in crisis. For example, we can better understand the issues faced by people suffering due to floods in their place. These pictures can help collect more charity from people in other parts. Radio fails to create this impact.

However, watching television requires focus and can be addictive sometimes. Unlike radio, one can not multitask.
