Some people believe that reading is always a good habit. Others feel it depends on which books a person is reading. Discuss both sides and give your own opinion.

Reading has been considered a fine hobby or habit. While some believe it is always beneficial, others feel reading should be considered good or bad depending on the books one reads. I shall analyse both options before concluding.

First, some believe reading is a good practice irrespective of what we read. These people believe that whatever one reads, one stands to gain something from it. Diverse people spend their time reading different stuff, for example, sports journals, jokes books, film magazines, newspapers, novels, or fantasy novels. Irrespective, reading simulates one intellectually, and one can obtain knowledge related to life, history, politics, sports, human psychology, etc. When one reads, one goes into a thinking mode, and the capacity to understand and discretely senses are enhanced.

On the other hand, some believe that reading as such is not a great habit, for only selected literature helps one grow. These people are probably in favour of the kind of content that helps one grow spiritually, personally, and professionally.
With excessive amounts of literature on the internet and around us, one may waste time by spending plenty of time reading unnecessary stuff. Also, reading obscene and vulgar content can do more harm than good. It has been seen that sometimes some students waste their time reading an excessive amount of comic or erotic content, which can be detrimental to these individuals who should spend their time working on their future.

I wish to assert that reading can be a great habit, for it can help one grow in all aspects of life. However, its benefits can only be maximized if one reads something valuable. Thus, I am more in favour of the second point of view, which suggests that more than reading as a habit, one should appreciate reading quality content or spending time on reading useless or detrimental text can only harm individual and society.
