Some people believe that professionals, such as doctors and engineers, should be required to work in the country where they did their training. Others believe they should be free to work in another country if they wish. Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

Highly educated professionals, especially in medical and technical fields, tend to move out of their countries when they complete their education. While some are of the opinion that these professionals should not leave their countries to serve people in foreign nations, others feel that there is nothing wrong with such movements. However, I am in favor of restricting these movements.

First, these movements happen from developing and impoverished nations to developed and wealthy countries. Governments of developing nations spend a lot of money and resources on opening and running medical and engineering institutes. It is a more concerning craze when developing and underdeveloped nations face a scarcity of resources. The governments spend funds on providing advanced education since highly educated people contribute effectively to the development of a country.

On the other hand, some feel that such movements should be allowed. Doctors and engineers are generally highly ambitious people who obtain their degrees after much hard work. These people should be allowed to follow their dreams and move to a place with better facilities and lifestyle. Further, many of these people help their native nations by becoming carriers of advanced knowledge leading to equalization across locations.

I believe highly qualified and skilled people must offer their skills to serve their nation. Both medical and technical fields need highly skilled people, for progress in these fields is significant to the development of a country. Thus it is not ethical for educated people to shun their native countries. However, these people should consider moving to a foreign land once they have served their motherland for a stipulated period.
