Some people believe that professional workers such as doctors and teachers should be paid more than sports and entertainment personalities. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give your opinion and relevant examples. (Source: unknown)

Some feel that professionals engaged in teaching and medical practice should be paid more than entertainers and sports stars. I partially concur with this thought, and the following paragraphs justify my point of view.

Teachers and doctors play a vital role in our society, and most communities consider them only next to god. A teacher shares his knowledge with pupils, inspires them, supports them, and shows a bright path for a better future. A good teacher can change the life of his students; in fact, a good teacher can change the fate of a community. One such great teacher was Chanakya, who prepared Chandragupta Maurya to overthrow the corrupt current reign.

Furthermore, doctors ensure we live a healthy and happy life. They are vital as they save people’s lives and give people new life. Despite all the above facts, most teachers and doctors are paid peanuts compared to entertainers and sports stars.

On the other hand, entertainers and sports stars amass a considerable fortune. Prominent media and sports celebrities have a massive following and are sponsored by big brands. There is so much craze for these icons that people rush to watch them and want to know about them. These factors work lead to these people making huge fortunes.

Finally, I believe teachers and doctors should be paid more so that highly skilled people start opting for these careers, for these professionals are vital for society. However, it is pointless to compare what people earn in different occupations. Notably, only highly successful entertainers and sports stars make massive amounts. Moderately successful people still struggle financially. Moreover, teachers and doctors can amass wealth if they can build an empire using their knowledge.
