Some believe that one better is jobless than engaged in a career or job that one does not relish doing. I do not concur with this statement, for it lacks practicality. I shall discuss my point of view in the following paragraphs.
For most, getting a job is an uphill task today. Most toil and compete with one another Further, most are not privileged enough to be sitting at home without doing anything, for their survival may be threatened, for they may not be able to earn a livelihood. Then others may endure a loss of employment for some time, yet they do not live comfortably.
A job is not for pleasure all the time. Considerable people continue to do their jobs even when they hate them. Additionally, most people fail to discover what they like or are passionate about for a long time. In this case, these people, too, sustain their livelihood for themselves and their families. In addition, sometimes, a job opens doors for other possibilities and opportunities that may be desirable for an individual.
However, in case an individual can sustain themselves and their families, it may be possible for them to leave their job and work on something they take pleasure in. Another option is to start a side hustle, and if it turns profitable, one may consider leaving their job. There are many stand-up comedians, entrepreneurs, and singers; these were formerly engineers and worked for well-established multinational companies. Most of these people started their passions as a leisure pursuit and later left their jobs.
To sum up, most of us can’t leave our careers or jobs for the meager reason we do not like them, for such an action may leave us unsettled. Thus, it is senseless to leave a job if one has no other means.
