Nowadays in many countries, young people don’t communicate with older people as much as they used to. Why is this happening? How could this situation be improved?

It has been observed that younger people are not as interested in communicating with older people as they earlier used. There have been a lot of reasons behind this development. This essay aims at analyzing these causes and suggests a few solutions.

Youngsters like to spend time on their gadgets, and most are busy browsing the internet and social media in their spare time.
Some onus lies with a gradual decline in family values and joint family systems. With a rise in neutral families, especially in cities, there can be a coldness or lack of bonding between the children and the aged family members. If such a strong bond is impossible to establish in the initial years of life, it becomes near impossible for the children to be pally with their aged relatives or acquaintances in the later part of their life.
Another reason is that young people have a lot of burden of studies or work, for life is fast-paced and competitive.

Some actions can be taken to ensure young people spend more time with aged ones. Families must ensure that when a child is small, the child spends ample time with grandparents and parents instead of consuming content on television or the internet. The more time is spent together, the stronger the bond can be between the various generations. There should be moral education at home, schools, and university levels, and young people must honor their older counterparts by being more sensitive to them. Similarly, old people must also try to understand young people, try to be less critical of their ways, and adopt modern norms to click nicely with their young relatives.

Finally, no doubt, there has been a reduction in interaction between young and senior ones. A few significant causes and solutions have been provided.
