The rate at which vital natural resources like fossil fuels, trees, and drinkable water have been exhausted has been disturbing. Naturally, there are dreadful impacts. We must understand the consequences of rapid consumption and some solutions that could prove helpful in such a situation.
Large quantities yet limited natural assets, especially water, oil, and trees, have been fast consumed due to so-called human development. In the last century, industrialization and urbanization have been the highest. As a result, there has been more deforestation. There has been more need for oil and other fossil fuels due to these changes. Moreover, since these developments have been mindless and unplanned and have been at an all-time peak, there has been excessive contamination of water, soil, and air due to higher emissions and waste generation. Since these resources are vital to our existence and are non-renewable, it is often feared that we may not leave much and clean resources for future generations.
However, some steps must be taken to prevent the situation from worsening, for the earth is the only known planet with life. First, more trees should be planted in every part of the world. Secondly, the governments of all the nations must jointly work together to ensure that excessive usage of unrenewable resources may be checked by reducing wastage and using more renewable sources of energy. Moreover, there must be research for purifying contaminated water, so the world may not be deprived of fresh drinkable water.
Finally, the irrational use of some of the natural resources has caused massive fear of possible exhaustion of these in the not-so-far future.
