It has been observed that many do not consider movies to be a rich form of art as writing and painting. I agree with this thought and intend to discuss the basis of my opinion in the following paragraphs.
First, cinema is a relatively new medium. Also, a film is made by using the latest technology, and hundreds of people are involved in making it. These factors lead to a compromise in the literary aspect of movies. Second, a vital factor is that films are made for commercial reasons and mass media. Movies are made with big stars and ride on their shoulders; these stars expect massive money. Thirdly, most movie makers enter into the field of movie making because they want instant fame and wish to make wealth from this source in a short time; even if they want to utilize this platform to serve rich craftwork, they are generally under pressure from their financers to generate profit from the films they make. Thus, the focus is generally not on the quality of art but on commercial viability, for cinema is usually perceived as a mode of entertainment rather than an art form.
On the other hand, paintings are as old as human civilization and are perceived to carry age-old information and craft as a part of art. Painting and writing are generally done for self-gratification and without much pressure from others. Thus, usually, they encompass pure expression and are considered on a higher level of the spectrum of finesses.
