In Most Of The Societies, The Role Of Mother And Father Differs. What Are The Causes In Most Of The Societies, The Role Of Mother And Father Differs? What Are The Causes Of This Difference? What Will Be The Parental Roles In the Future?

Both parents play vital roles in bringing up a child, yet there have been well-defined and distinct roles for mother and father in most cultures due to a few reasons. The current trend makes us believe there might be significant shifts in the parts mothers and fathers have in their young children’s lives. The following paragraphs will discuss the reasons for the current roles and the changes that might happen in the parental functions of males and females.

First, most cultures have well-established functions to be performed by their members. Similarly, the roles of a mother and father are also defined. In most cultures, mothers bring up children and take care of the home, while generally, fathers are the breadwinners for their families.

Till a few decades back, jobs needed more physical work, so men would go out and do those jobs. However, women would stay back to rear their youngsters. These roles were accepted and adopted by most societies and have been part of most cultures and societies since the inception of civilization. Since then, females always have been considered softer of the two sexes and believed to have been better at nurturing and offering affection to a child. On the other hand, daddies have been responsible for providing for and safeguarding a family from possible threats.

However, there have been some changes in most occupations, for the work is mental rather than physical. Thus more women have started working, and they have started expecting men to share some household chores. Thus, there will be an overlap in the traditional roles of parenting. We might see more househusbands than the number of housewives in the future.
