Do you agree with the following statement: home schooling protects students from several challenges faced by non-home-schooled children?

There has been a rise in parents opting for home-schooling since several people believe that this option can save children from many challenges faced by those that attend regular schools. I agree with this thought to a large extent. We shall analyze both choices.

Homeschooling has many benefits. First, safety is a grave concern for all parents today. When a child goes to conventional or regular schools, they come in contact with many people. Parents trust most people, but all do not all have the best intentions for their children. Child abuse is a reality today and can be avoided to an extent if the parents choose non-schooling.

Going to a conventional school makes a person spend a lot of time traveling or participating in morning assemblies and other activities at school. The time saved being educated at a nonschool can be utilized doing many other fruitful activities. One, a student can spend more time with their parents. Secondly, a student can learn a few more customized skills at home, which may not be possible if a student attends a regular school, for going to school may be tiring due to excessive homework and an inflexible system that similarly treats everyone.

However, some might believe staying home may deprive a child of meeting others, and take away some fun from his life. Also, it may be believed that conventional schooling helps a child learn social skills, which might be difficult if they undergo homeschooling.
Nonetheless, I believe a child’s safety should be a topmost concern. The other benefits are also significant many of which have been mentioned before. As far as social and people skills are concerned, they may be learned a little later once a student attends college or university.
