Currently, there is a trend toward the use of alternative forms of medicine. However, at best these methods are ineffective, and at worst they may be dangerous.

To what extent do you agree with this statement?

Today some people resort to alternative ways of treatment. Though many are against using alternative forms of medications, for they believe these are useless or even risky for a patient. I agree with this assertion and offer a few profound justifications in favor.

People practicing alternative therapies are not qualified from government-approved and affiliated universities. Thus, they are not capable of diagnosing and treating sickness.

Further, the human body is complicated, and diseases can sometimes not show as severe symptoms as harsh as the illness may be. An expert that is a qualified doctor and is a degree holder from an affiliated institute is only fully capable of diagnosing a sickness. Medical colleges, allopathic, homeopathic, or ayurvedic, have been established by governments and allied organizations only because these sciences have proved successful for years and are established on proven methods and studies.

On the other hand, many feel that most alternative therapies or medications may be complete flukes, for there are no well-established studies, research, renowned organizations, and enough case studies to prove their trustworthiness. When an illness is new or less harmful, some alternative medicines may have a remote chance of helping cure it. However, in most cases, it is not advisable to take a chance with one’s health since these therapies have not just proved ineffective in most cases, but they may cause lifelong health issues; also, at their worst, proves fatal. Not just this, many quacks come up with alternative ways of treating ill people to make a profit for themselves and do not hesitate to jeopardising innocent lives by misguiding them.

To conclude, I feel health is wealth, and one must trust a doctor for any health-related issue. Seeking aid from any medication practice that lacks ample proof and backings from substantiated and expert people or organizations can hurt one’s health.
