Artists need a certain amount of freedom to develop their creativity. some people think that artists should have total freedom to express any thoughts and ideas. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is believed that creativity can only flourish if there is ample freedom to do so. Thus, some suppose that creators should be left to create as they want without any regulations or censorship. I do not concur with this statement, for there can always be chances of crossing the line or offending a person or a group. I shall analyze the for and against views to establish my viewpoint.

Creativity is often loosely equated to freedom. If artists are not free to think and express themselves, the world can be deprived of profound experiences and beautiful art pieces, poems, paintings, and music. Thus, many believe an artist should not be stopped from thinking and expressing whatever they feel.

However, artists are humans, so creativity or imagination can sometimes take a wild form. There have been many instances when some artists have offended some of their fellow humans though it could be unintentional. Artists or people that In some cases, their understanding and depiction of some religious tokens, theirs or others, slighted the religious sentiments of others. Such instances gave birth to many a controversy. Thus, some censorship has always existed to stop when artists knowingly or unknowingly break said or unsaid rules of society.

In other instances, some artists were blamed for creating art pieces that can be considered obscene or violent by many and may impact people’s minds adversely. It is another reason why many favour censorship by some expert and neutral bodies.

In considering these arguments, some control on what an artist puts out in the world, else there could be threats to social setups in many parts.
