Sometimes parents or guardians employ beating their children as a means of disciplining them. In most countries, this parental behaviour is illegal though this method is still popular and utilized to control offspring by many parents. I believe that this kind of behavior must be banned, and people must be made aware of the damaging impact of this treatment on their children.
Childhood lays the foundation of a person’s future. Experiences in childhood have the most deciding impact on the psyche, personality, and personal and professional life. Beating can damage the confidence of a child. I feel physical punishment is nothing but harassment. Researchers show that Physical punishment is associated with increased child aggression, antisocial behavior, lower intellectual achievement, poorer quality of parent-child relationships, mental health problems (such as depression), and diminished moral internalization.
Parents punish children when they want something to be done immediately and without putting in any effort to justify a particular parental behaviour. I believe that punishing is a sign of weakness on the part of a parent. Such parents lack enough patience and expression of love. Some parents release their tension by thrashing their children, that is highly unacceptable. It is an act of control rather than an act to bring improvements to a child.
A child needs love, patience, and motivation from a parent. Thrashing can do no good to a child. So, to conclude our arguments, it is highly unacceptable to beat a child, and it should be banned in all the countries.
